Fire Alarm Signal
The portal can be connected to the building fire alarm/ emergency. In the event of a fire the doors can be set to open either the secure, non secure or both doors*.
*Feature not available on the E4 & C4 Security Portals. Separate emergency exit door required.
Anti-slip floor mat
Our Anti-slip black floor mat is manufactured in compliance with EN 13893 and is Fire Reaction certificated Bfls1 in accordance with EN 13501-1. With large anti slip tread the floor mat is suitable for high traffic areas and is easy to clean.
Fail Secure Configuration
In the event of a power failure (and a fully discharged emergency battery backup) the non-secure door will be closed and locked to prevent intrusion.
Infra-red presence sensors
An infrared sensor is located in the ceiling of the Portal and detects the presence of a person inside the Portal.
Control
A multi-functional touch sensitive panel enables the user to control the portal and can provide status updates
Service Mode keyswitch
Service Mode Keyswitch this option is a local ON/OFF keyswitch selector and cleaning mode function. Usually installed on the secure side on Portal frame, it has 3 functions:
1. Switching ON the Portal
2. Switching OFF the Portal
3. Service Mode – enables secure cleaning of the portal
Night Mode
An additional mechanical locking procedure provides increased security when the portal is in night mode
Detection Devices
APD – Prevents Tailgating and Piggybacking
APD detects the volume inside the security portal by using ultrasonic technology, and allows the transit of only one person at a time. When more than one person is detected within the portal access through the portal is denied.
Pressure Mat
All portals come with infrared presence sensors as a standard feature. However in some environments there maybe interference which affects the proper functioning of the infrared sensor. In these situations it is advised to install a pressure mat as an added security measure. The mat is able to detect the presence of a person inside the portal by using pressure sensors.
Infra-red safety sensors
Infra-red safety sensors detect the presence of an obstacle in the doors and prevent them from closing to avoid injury
Emergency battery back-up
All portals are provided with an Emergency Battery backup in the event of a power failure. The Portal can work on the Emergency Battery for up to 6-8 hours of continuous operation. An indicator light and message on the control panel inform the user the Emergency battery is in use.
Emergency unlocking device
The portals have a special mechanical mechanism which allows the opening of the secure door (only) in cases when a forced opening is required. Since the mechanism is situated on the secure side and it opens only the secure door, security is not compromised.
