Detection Devices

APD detects the volume inside the security portal by using ultrasonic technology, and allows the transit of only one person at a time. When more than one person is detected within the portal access through the portal is denied.

All portals come with infrared presence sensors as a standard feature. However in some environments there maybe interference which affects the proper functioning of the infrared sensor. In these situations it is advised to install a pressure mat as an added security measure. The mat is able to detect the presence of a person inside the portal by using pressure sensors.

The system denies access to user carrying objects that would be considered a threat - composed of magnetic, non-magnetic and mixed alloy metal weapons.

The Two-zone pressure mat adds an extra verification parameter to the tailgating detection and is recommended for larger size portals.
