Working as an airlock solution SMACS Flex will only grant access to a single user with the correct access rights. Once a user has passed through the system for the first time and where biometrics are not employed, SMACS Flex records their body features to identify the user accurately the next time they pass through, reducing the risk that their ID can be used by an unauthorised user.
If two users enter the airlock together the SMACS Flex system will not allow the secure side door to be opened. They are instructed by audio and visual guidance to step out of the airlock to the non-secure side and re-enter one at a time. Access is then granted to the authorised user entering the airlock alone.
In a situation where an authorised user needs to take deliveries through to a secure area, SMACS Flex will scan both the material zone and the person zone and only grant access if the user is authorised to transit with material. Should an unauthorised user attempt to gain access by, for example, impersonating a piece of luggage, SMACS Flex will identify the presence of an unauthorised user and deny access to the secure side.
