The user enters the airlock with the material and places the material in the middle of the airlock. Once the user has exited the airlock the doors on the non secure side are closed. The SMACS system scans the airlock to check that only the material is present, once verified the secure side doors will open allowing the material to be collected.
In situations where a person is detected inside the airlock the secure side doors will remain locked and an alarm will be raised.
